SKIP HIRE COMPANY DAGENHAM – MINI SKIPS FOR EAST LONDON’S COTTAGE STREETS
Dagenham is the East London town at the heart of the Becontree estate, and DP Skip Hire Essex delivers mini skips to its homes, shops and businesses from our Romford line.
Our range runs from 2 yard mini skips up to 6 yard skips, with 8, 10 and 12 yard skips available on request. Call 01708 918 521 and tell us what you are clearing in Dagenham; we will suggest a size that fits the job and the space.
Most of Dagenham’s homes were built by the London County Council from the early 1920s as part of the Becontree estate, laid out on cottage-estate lines with private front and back gardens. Where a home has only a front garden and on-street parking, our compact mini skips and our wait and load service are usually the simplest options.
Ring our Romford number, 01708 918 521, email info@dpskiphireessex.co.uk or use our enquiry form. Tell us whether you have a drive or a front garden, and we will advise on the best option.
Why Choose DP Skip Hire Essex as Your Dagenham Skip Hire Company?
Dagenham sits on the Essex side of London, right next to our Havering coverage, and our Romford line handles bookings across Barking and Dagenham. We will tell you straight away whether your skip can go on private land or needs a council licence, so there are no surprises.
Typical household jobs include a kitchen or bathroom replaced, a loft cleared before a move, a garden overhauled. Our domestic waste removal skips are built for exactly that, and every load is taken to a licensed facility and recycled where possible.
We are a family-run skip hire company, not a national broker. When you call, you talk to the people who will actually bring the skip to Dagenham, and we can tell you straight away whether it will fit on your drive.
Every skip we collect is taken to a licensed waste facility, where materials are separated and recycled wherever possible. Our Environment Agency waste carrier registration number is CBDU242119.
Same-day delivery and collection is offered when availability allows, and our phones are open Monday to Saturday from 7am to 10:30pm on 01708 918 521.
Skip Hire Services in Dagenham
Mini Skips for Front Gardens and Drives
If your home has a drive or a hard-surfaced front garden, a 2, 3 or 4 yard mini skip can usually sit there without any licence. Measure the space first; our 2 yard skip is about 1.6m long and 1.2m wide, and the 4 yard about 2.3m by 1.5m.
Let us know about low walls, gateposts or a hedge along the front, and we will check the lorry can lower the skip safely.
Our domestic waste removal page explains what we can take from homes. Call 01708 918 521 to book.
Wait and Load for Terraced Streets
Where there is no off-road space, a skip on the road needs a council licence and takes up a parking space for days. Wait and load avoids that: we arrive, you load while we wait, and we leave with the skip, usually within the hour.
Our wait and load page has the details. Ring 01708 918 521 to arrange it.
Skips for Shops, Trades and Units
Shops, trades and industrial units in Dagenham all need a skip from time to time. We supply mini skips and, on request, 8, 10 and 12 yard skips for sites with private space, with waste transfer notes for each collection.
For trade accounts and site waste, see commercial waste removal or ring 01708 918 521.
House Clearances
Clearing a Dagenham house for a sale, a new tenancy or after a bereavement usually means furniture, carpets and years of belongings. A 6 yard skip with a drop door is the most popular choice, and we can exchange it if you need more room.
Find out more on our house clearance page, or call 01708 918 521 to book a skip.
Skip Hire Across Dagenham
The Becontree Estate
The Becontree estate was built by the London County Council between 1921 and 1935, with around 26,000 homes, and roughly half of it lies in Dagenham. The homes were designed with private gardens, and privet hedges once lined the front gardens. If you live on the estate, see our pages for Becontree, Becontree Heath and Castle Green.
Dagenham’s History and Ford
Dagenham’s name first appears as Daeccanhaam in a Barking Abbey charter dated 666, and most likely means the farmstead of a man called Daecca. The parish church of St Peter and St Paul probably dates from around 1205. In 1931 Ford moved its car plant to Dagenham, and although full vehicle production ended in 2002, around 2,000 people still work at the site.
Parks and Green Spaces
Dagenham has plenty of green space, including Parsloes Park, opened in 1935 to mark the completion of the Becontree estate, and Eastbrookend Country Park in the east of the town. For garden clearances, green waste is sorted for recycling wherever possible.
Skip Licences in Dagenham
Dagenham is in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, and the borough council is responsible for its local roads. As anywhere in England, you need the council’s permission to put a skip on the road. Mention it when you book if the skip can’t go on private land, and we will check what is needed for your street. Wait and load avoids the question altogether.
Getting Around Dagenham
Dagenham East and Dagenham Heathway stations are on the District line, and Dagenham Dock is on the c2c line. For our lorries, Dagenham is a short run from Romford and the rest of Havering.
Nearby Pages
We also cover Barking, Chadwell Heath, Rainham, Romford, Rush Green and Marks Gate. Call 01708 918 521, enquire online or see our Essex skip hire home page.
Skip Hire in Dagenham: Your Questions Answered
Here are the questions we are asked most often. If yours is not here, give us a call.
Can a skip go in my front garden in Dagenham?
Usually, if the front garden is hard-surfaced and wide enough for the skip and there is access for the lorry. A 2 yard skip needs about 1.6m by 1.2m. Tell us about walls, gates and hedges when you book.
Who gives permission for a skip on the road in Dagenham?
Barking and Dagenham Council, which is responsible for local roads in the borough. If the skip can’t go on private land, we will check what is needed, or suggest wait and load.
Which number should I call for Dagenham?
Our Romford line, 01708 918 521. We are open Monday to Saturday, 7am to 10:30pm.
Do you deliver to businesses in Dagenham?
Yes. We supply skips to shops, trades and industrial units, with waste transfer notes for commercial waste. Larger skips are available on request.
What size skip suits a typical Becontree house?
For one room or a garden, a 2 or 3 yard skip. For a kitchen or bathroom, a 4 yard. For a full house clearance, our 6 yard skip.
What can't go in a skip?
Items we usually can’t take include asbestos, tyres, fridges and freezers, batteries, paint and solvents, gas bottles and electrical items. Plasterboard often needs to be kept separate. If you are unsure about anything, ask us before you fill the skip.
Can I fill the skip above the top?
No. Skips must be filled to a level load, flush with the sides, so that they can be lifted and transported safely. If you think you will have more waste, book the next size up.
